One Local Environmental Plan and Development Control Plan for the Coast

Consultation has concluded

A report has been prepared on the ‘Outcomes of Public Exhibition of draft Central Coast Local Environmental Plan and draft Central Coast Development Control Plan’ and was to be considered at the 9 December 2019 Ordinary Council Meeting. At that meeting Council resolved:

1256/19 That Council defer consideration of this item until February 2020 to allow for the following:

a. That the Chief Executive Officer seek legal advice regarding the ability of Council to rezone the current deferred matters that are not public lands, to an equivalent environmental zone as an interim measure, whilst the Environmental Lands Review project is undertaken.

b. That the Chief Executive Officer provide an updated table comparing proposed changes with the former Gosford and Wyong LEPs and DCPs, referencing the clauses in the relevant instruments.

c. That the Chief Executive Officer provide a written briefing to Councillors about the Environmental and Urban Edge Review (EUEZR) including an outline and timeline of the process since commencement.

In response to these Council Resolutions the following information was provided to Councillors:

Planning for the future of the Central Coast

On 23 November 2016 Council resolved to prepare a Planning Proposal to consolidate the provisions of the Local Environmental Plan (LEP) operating across the Central Coast Local Government Area (LGA). Council also resolved to prepare a consolidated Development Control Plan (DCP) to harmonise planning controls.

The ultimate goal is to have one LEP and one DCP that will help improve our local environment, encourage investment, create new jobs and quality housing for the growing population of the Central Coast.

Council is seeking public comment on the Planning Proposal for the draft Central Coast Local Environmental Plan (CCLEP). Council is also seeking public comment on the draft Central Coast Development Control Plan (CCDCP).

The draft CCLEP and CCDCP are available for comment from 6 December 2018 to 28 February 2019.

Submissions should be addressed to the Chief Executive Officer and will be accepted until 5.00pm on 28 February by:
