This public exhibition has now concluded.

We understand that car parking is a significant issue of concern to the community and we are actively working to ensure a plan is put in place to meet our region’s short-term and future needs.

The draft Central Coast Parking Study and Implementation Plan was guided by previous community consultation activities and included specific actions to deliver additional parking where required.

The study also looked at improved public and other transport options and has assessed the commuter parking needs for Gosford, Woy Woy, Wyong, Warnervale, Ourimbah, Tuggerah and Lisarow train stations which were identified for focused investment.

The focus areas of the study included Terrigal CBD, The Entrance Town Centre and various coastal hot spots.

The community were invited to view the Draft Parking Study and Implementation Plan and provide written submissions (submissions closed 16 August 2020).

The Central Coast Car Parking Study was adopted at the 13 April 2021 Council meeting, the community can view the adopted document here

What is Council doing to address parking issues in the Gosford City Centre?

In response to the increasing demands for commuter parking and heightened economic activity in Gosford City Centre, Council has as a short term measure, constructed a public car park at 10 Racecourse Road, West Gosford, formalised available parking at Adcock Park and launched a free Gosford CBD shuttle bus service to make accessing and parking in the city easier.

Over 300 parking spaces have been provided at Adcock Park and Racecourse Road to allow for easy all-day parking. The new ‘easy run’ shuttle collects passengers from these parking locations and runs approximately every 10 minutes during peak times to take passengers to and from key Gosford CBD locations.

The 'easy run' shuttle bus provides easy access to the Gosford CBD area without the stress of finding suitable all-day car parking.

In addition, in collaboration with the NSW government, Council is in the process of investigating the most suitable location for car parking stations within walking distance of Gosford station.

Is Council going to introduce on-street parking meters on the Central Coast, or paid parking at beaches?

No, not as part of this study.

What happens after I have had my say?

All comments received will be considered for inclusion in the Parking Study and Implementation Plan.  Once the Parking Study and Implementation Plan has been amended it will be put to Council for adoption.
