Project complete.

Community feedback helped shape the design of a new state-of-the-art wharf which is now complete.  The $5.6 million redevelopment of Woy Woy Town Centre Wharf was the largest wharf project undertaken by Council and will deliver substantial benefits for Woy Woy and the Central Coast community.

Key features of the wharf include:

  • wheelchair lifting facility on the pontoon
  • covered pontoon gangway and passenger shelter
  • dedicated fishing area located on the boardwalk at the corner of The Boulevarde and Brisbane Water Drive
  • widened pathway with new footpath and boardwalk along part of The Boulevarde and Brisbane Water Drive
  • boardwalk constructed with decking made from recycled plastic
  • solar lighting along the pontoon and covered gangway and in the covered passenger shelter

The wharf design developed in consultation with the community will deliver significantly improved amenity for our community, particularly for commuters who regularly use ferry services, and will also boost tourism.

The floating pontoon lifts and rises with the varying tides to ensure access to ferry services and facilities in most conditions.

Accessibility for community members who use wheelchairs or other mobility devices was a priority during the design process, with one of the added key features of the wharf being a wheelchair lifting facility located on the pontoon for recreational boat users.

The new Woy Woy Town Centre Wharf was proudly funded by the NSW Government through $3.99m from the Regional Communities Development Fund and with $1.6m from Council.
