Public exhibition 2026

Central Coast Council is inviting the community to have its say on the draft Central Coast Library Strategy 2026-2036. This strategy will guide how our library service grows and adapts over the next 10 years to support a growing and diverse community.

Libraries are more than places to borrow books. They are trusted, welcoming community spaces that support learning, creativity, connection, inclusion and access to information. Our libraries also provide digital access, community programs, study and work spaces, outreach services and safe places for people across the region.

Our focus areas

The draft strategy has been shaped by community feedback, service data and library trends. It outlines four main focus areas for the future of Central Coast libraries:

Satisfaction survey 2023

Between 24 July and 6 August 2023, we wanted to hear from you about what you would like to see for the future of the Central Coast Library Service. We invited the community to tell us how you want to visit, borrow items and use the space and share your dreams for the future of the library experience!

A survey was available to complete online or by visiting one of our ten library branches across the Coast. The results will help inform a five-year strategic plan that will ensure our libraries adapt to the changing needs of our diverse community.

About our libraries

Council’s library services today extend beyond the physical branches and include a mobile library and home library service, Library @ YourTime well as an extensive range of free online resources and services. Find out more about Our Library Services.

A key factor in the success of our libraries has been their evolution into community centres with public internet access, technology classes, meeting rooms, and a range of programs and events for all ages.
