The existing skate park is ageing, has limited functionality and is due for an upgrade to a modern facility that better meets the needs of the local community.

Council is funding both the design and construction of the new skate park, with works expected to begin in the 2026–27 financial year.

    We continue to invest in purpose built, safe and engaging skate parks and recreation areas because of the many community benefits these facilities provide (including the promotion of healthy active lifestyles and connection with others in the community) and to meet the growing popularity of skateboarding and scootering across widening age groups, genders and abilities.
