We're using your feedback to develop the draft Masterplan

Council is in the early stages of developing a Landscape Masterplan for Gosford Memorial Park, Rotary Park and the adjoining reserve along Dane Drive. A Landscape Masterplan will guide how these important parks are cared for, protected and improved into the future.

These parks mean different things to different people - a place to honour our veterans, reflect, walk through, meet friends, enjoy nature or simply take a quiet moment. That’s why your experiences of the parks, how you use them, and what improvements you'd like to see are essential.

What you told us

Thank you to everyone who shared their feedback. Whether you attended the community walkshop or pop-up, completed a survey or contributed to the interactive map, your input is now informing the draft Landscape Masterplan.

  • Over 200 contributions

    79 pop-up attendees

    64 interactive map contributions

  • Strong support for masterplan

Community feedback shows strong and consistent support for improving Memorial and Rotary Park in ways that respect their heritage significance while enhancing everyday use, accessibility and safety.

  • Improving access, amenity and safety

Throughout the parks, there is clear support for improving amenity, access and safety, including better pathways, seating, lighting and clearer views to the water.

  • Ongoing maintenance needed

Ongoing maintenance was the highest priority from the survey (69%, n=46) and a consistent concern across all engagement activities, with clear expectations that any improvements must be well maintained.

  • Restoring Rotary Fountain

Restoring Rotary Fountain is another standout priority, receiving strong support in the survey (67%, n=45), interactive map (91%, n=10) and pop‑up feedback (highest‑ranked priority, n=29).

Next steps

We’re now taking your feedback on board as we develop a Draft Landscape Masterplan for Gosford Memorial and Rotary Park.

Once the draft is ready, it will be reported to Council for consideration. If Council supports the draft, it will move to public exhibition.

During public exhibition, we’ll share the draft plan with the community and invite feedback to ask how we can make any further changes to meet the diverse needs of our community.

As this project progresses, any relevant updates will be made available on this page.
